Blog #1 - How I Use Technology In My Life

Technology is a crazy word when you get right down to it. Some people think of technology as completely computer based items. Others think of technology as a catchall word that means anything that helps a person's life. I guess I think of technology as somewhere in between. I mean, when it's really hot outside, I include things like ice makers and air conditioners as technology, and I'm really grateful to have them. When I'm working, I think of the computer and electricity as technological advancements that I would have a difficult time working without. Sometimes when I pick up a pencil or a pen I think to myself how these very basic instruments make it possible for me to write.

Most of the time, I think of technology as up and coming advancements. For instance, I think of Second Life or Blue Moon as awesome technology. I think of virtual reality and how it is changing the face of distance education. I think about blogging, and how it is changing the face of journaling.
